THE MIND BEHIND THE MADNESS
Meet Jaie
I’ve been an avid dreamer for as long as I can remember—building and breaking entire worlds in my mind since childhood.
My mother was always reading. Every day, often with coffee and smoke in hand, she'd devour book after book. I envied that—her peace, her passion, the way she could disappear into stories. I never knew I’d one day write something for her.
The first real thing I ever wrote for others to hear?
A eulogy…
For my mother.
I had watched her absorb millions of fantastical words over the years… and now, I was the one putting words to page for her. I felt something click—something that felt like purpose, though I didn’t recognize it fully then.
Afterward, people approached me in tears:
“That was the most beautiful eulogy I’ve ever heard.”
It wasn’t the first time I’d been told my words held rhythm and weight. But I brushed the calling aside. I tried every career, chased every fleeting interest—until there was nothing left but the dream I’d buried.
BEHIND THE STORY
Beneath Her Memory is more than a story.
It’s grief. It’s questions without easy answers. It’s the ache of real life wrapped in post-apocalyptic heat.
The seed of inspiration came from Many Lives, Many Masters by Dr. Brian L. Weiss among other things. I found it after my son, at just three years old, began to say he was from Africa… that he’d died there after his mother did… and that “the angels brought me to you.”
Shocked, I searched for answers.
And then, after losing my own mother, I returned to that book—clinging to hope.
Hope that maybe she wasn’t truly gone.
Hope that maybe we all meet again.
All I know for sure is this:
A reader raised a writer.
And she lives on in the stories I now create.
